Eco-Tourism: our values and commitments

The protection of the environment and the development of a tourist offer that respects our territory must, in our opinion, be part of a more global approach to sustainability. We are particularly sensitive to the preservation of our exceptional but fragile natural areas, and we work daily to reduce the impact of our hospitality activities.

We share these values for a more sustainable tourism, which also favour the local economy, with the Parc Naturel Régional du Luberon, which recently awarded the " Valeurs Parc" mark to our house, thus concretising our commitments and actions in favour of an eco-responsible tourism.

Encourage mid-season visits

Because the Luberon can be discovered in all seasons, offering a variety of stays outside of the busy summer periods represents an alternative and a common sense orientation.

Welcoming hikers and cyclists in spring or autumn allows them to enjoy unique experiences in the heart of a generous nature, far from the crowds and excessive temperatures of the summer period.

Ensuring the availability of services appropriate to their practice, working in a network with mobilised professionals, providing them with all the useful documentation, make our accommodation a privileged place to stay for those who practice "slow-tourism".

Our daily eco-actions

But beyond the rhetoric, we strive to translate our commitments into eco-responsible actions on a daily basis:

• The hot water in our accommodation is supplied by solar panels,
• All our indoor and outdoor lighting is LED,
• We recycle our green waste and encourage our guests to do so, thanks to the composter installed in the garden,
• We sort our waste and bring it in voluntarily, and we encourage our guests to do the same,
• We offer only natural toiletries (Marseille soap) without packaging and made available in family size allowing their refill,
• ECOCERT-labelled household products are offered in refillable packaging in our gîtes and used by our cleaning staff as well as for washing clothes,
• Our breakfasts are mainly organic, home-made, based on fresh, seasonal and local products, and offered "in bulk",
• None of the coffee machines used or made available are pods,
• Our bed linen is made of percale fabric manufactured in France without the use of harmful substances,
• We recover the washing water for watering the garden; the watering of the garden is also done by drilling in order to avoid all sanitation treatments,
• Our swimming pool is sterilised by salt electrolysis, without chemical chlorine,
• We make our guests aware of the need to use air conditioning sensibly, in particular by learning how to cool our accommodation naturally.

Favouring local productions, valuing the work of the men and women of the region

We are committed to integrating our hospitality activity into the cultural and economic life of our region, in particular by promoting the work of the men and women who make it happen. We work with local producers and shopkeepers to produce our breakfasts (fruit, fruit juices, breads and pastries, etc.), taking care to follow the seasons. We regularly meet with professionals and craftsmen in our area who share our values, in order to get to know them and promote their activities to our guests. The same goes for the restaurant owners to whom we refer them.

Your involvement

We give you the choice to accompany us and to join us, if you wish, in this approach towards an eco-responsible and more sustainable tourism. By entrusting us with your green waste and waste to be recycled, by buying your supplies from our local producers, by favouring your stays when there are fewer people, by avoiding asking us to change the linen in our rooms too often.
